A word from the Owner
My name is Karen and I was born in Wales, UK. I have been living in Canada for almost 20 years and just love it here, as I always say, this is my chosen home! Up until now I have never thought that my parents would get old. My Dad has always been so active, even falling from the roof and 2 hip replacements later he was still on the go and helping the old lady down the road as he would put it (he was 75 and she was 88). However, the time has come when the pain in his hips is starting to slow him down. He is finding it increasingly harder to even mow the lawn or bend down to put his shoes and socks on. I just so wish I could pop over and cut the hedge for him, mop the floor for my Mum or even help them with emails or the digital camera.
It was from this thought, and my love for seniors and helping people, that I came up with the idea of Helping Hands & Heart. I remember, even as a child, I would pop in to chat with seniors that I had waved at every day walking home from school. I loved their wisdom, their life experiences and their stories. This is my passion! This is what makes My Heart Smile! I hope I can do the same for you.

The following video is so funny. It’s not my Mum & Dad trying to figure out the computer, but it very well could be! That is why I am also offering basic computer training as one of the services we can provide.
